Stockton, Calif. -- Stanford improved to 8-9 overall and 4-2 in the NorPac with today's win against Pacific (2-12, 2-3 NorPac). The win marked the Cardinal's seventh shutout of the season.
Leading off the scoring for Stanford was senior captain Michelle Scott with 27:35 to go in the first half. Junior forward Erica Swesey then tallied two goals for the Cardinal, the first with 5:21 remaining in the first half and the second one came with 22:49 left in the game on an assist from sophomore Amrit Chima. To round out the scoring for the Cardinal, sophomore forward Lauren Steward tallied her first collegiate goal on an assist from Amanda Billmyer with 13 minutes remaining.
Stanford returns to The Farm for a game on Sunday, October 22 at 1 pm against the UC Davis Aggies. Stanford and Pacific will play again next weekend in a non-conference match as the Cardinal defend their home turf for the final time this season. The game will be on the Varsity Hockey Turf Field at 11 am on Saturday, October 28.
