Stanford Field Hockey Falls to Towson

Towson, Md. -- Stanford (5-9 Overall, 3-2 NorPac) fell to Towson (4-10) 2-1 in overtime in this afternoon's match at Minnegan Stadium. Junior Megan Edwards scored the game-winning goal 1:36 into the overtime period to end the Cardinal's East Coast trip.

Stanford freshman Noor Dawood gave the Cardinal a 1-0 lead with 13:42 left in the first half. The Cardinal maintained the lead until Tiffanie Gelvin recorded a goal with 38 seconds remaining in regulation. Edwards' overtime goal gave the Tigers the 2-1 victory.

Stanford returns to Farm for a match on Wednesday, Oct. 11 against Cornell at 2 pm. The Cardinal continue their home-stay with a 1 pm game on Saturday, Oct. 14 against the University of Pennsylvania.
