Stanford, Calif. - A pair of Stanford 7-footers, Jarron Collins and Curtis Borchardt, combined for 38 points and 20 rebounds to lead the nationally-ranked Cardinal men's basketball team to a 91-70 victory over EA Sports/California West All-Stars in an exhibition game on Wednesday night at Maples Pavilion.
Collins, a senior All-America candidate, scored a team-high 23 points along with ten rebounds in 25 minutes of play, while Borchardt, a sophomore, scored 15 points, grabbed ten rebounds and blocked three shots in 26 minutes.
Collins hit 8-of-9 shots from the floor, while Borchardt tallied five goals in eight attempts.
Honors candidate Ryan Mendez added 13 points as the Cardinal, ranked third in the ESPN/USA Today pre-season poll and fourth by Associated Press, extended its 36-29 halftime lead to as many as 25 points, 81-56, with 4:37 in the game.
Stanford shot 47 percent from the field, and outrebounded EA Sports, 47-39.
Former Pacific standout Corey Andrews led EA Sports with 27 points.
The Cardinal will conclude its brief exhibition slate with a game on Nov. 14 against Global Sports. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Maples Pavilion.
