Mike Montgomery
I thought we played pretty well. I think the key was really handling their pressure. They really get you into their pace and turn you over and create some problems with their pressure. They are much better when they do that, because it's a pace they want to play. I thought we beat the pressure pretty well. Had we converted some of our chances inside, it could have been tough for them.
Our kids worked hard on their shooters. Fein (Shaun, Georgia Tech guard) had a great tournament. I was happy for Jason, getting the MVP. 24 rebounds in two games is significant. But, like I told the team, I thought the guy who was just as important to us as anybody but never gets the credit is (Mike) McDonald. 13 assists and one turnover in two games - he played very, very well. Mike could have been All-Tournament just as easily.
I thought this game was a quality game. Heading into the Duke game, I would have felt bad having lost this one. But, with two games under our belt, I think we're ready to compete now. It should be interesting.
