STANFORD, Calif. - UCLA's Kristen Parker and Jamie Dantzscher posted back-to-back perfect 10's on floor as the second-ranked Bruins rallied over the final two rotations for a 196.925-194.675 victory over No. 5 Stanford before 2,150 at Maples Pavilion.
Down by .025 after two rotations, UCLA staged a comeback in the third. While Stanford scored an impressive 49.100 on beam, Jeanette Antolin and Doni Thompson each recorded a 9.825 on floor, setting the stage for the heroics of Parker and Dantzscher and a 49.350 team score. Stanford then struggled to a 47.300 on floor while the Bruins posted a 49.325 mark on beam. UCLA's Kristen Maloney took home individual beam honors with a 9.925.
The first two rotations were tightly contested, with Stanford holding a slim edge, 98.275 to 98.250. Cardinal freshman Lindsay Wing won the vault title - her second individual crown in two competitions - with a 9.925 mark. Stanford freshmen Robin Phelps and Caroline Flurher each tallied a 9.900 on bars, however, Dantzscher had a 9.950 performance to win the individual title.
Parker rode her perfect 10 on floor to the all-around title at 39.500, while Flurher and Wing finished second and third with a 39.300 and 39.250, respectively.
Stanford is next in action on Sunday, January 28, when it travels to Seattle for a 2:00 p.m. dual meet with No. 18 Washington.
