No. 18 Men's Gymnastics Takes Second At Cardinal Open

STANFORD, Calif. - Stanford junior David Durante won the all-around competition with a 50.600 score as the No. 18 Cardinal finished second in its own Cardinal open with a 194.900 mark. No. 7 California won the meet at 205.500, while No. 20 UC Santa Barbara placed third with a 182.500 score. Top Flight Gymnastics, a local club team, scored a 181.300 to take fourth place.

Durante had three top-5 finishes, placing third on parallel bars (8.350), third on high bar (8.900), and tied for fourth on floor (8.600). Sophomore Marshall Erwin scored a 9.350 to capture the individual rings title, while sophomore Matt McLean finished third in the all-around (47.550) and fourth on vault (8.450). Senior Reshad Garan tied for fifth on rings with a 8.150.

Cal won four of the six events, with Michael Ashe taking home top honors on both pommel horse (9.050) and high bar (9.400). Aaron Floyd and Andrew Hampy each scored a 9.000 to win on floor, while Cody Moore was victorious with a 8.950 mark on parallel bars.

UCSB's Andre Badilla landed a 8.900 to win the vault title.
