Women's Golf Leading After First Round At Peg Barnard Collegiate

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team took the early lead at the Peg Barnard Collegiate at the Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, Calif. The Cardinal, who shot a 301 on the afternoon, hold a three shot lead over the California Golden Bears (304). Rounding out the top five are Washington (306), San Jose State (306), Oregon (308) and San Francisco (308).

Individually, Stanford senior Hilary Homeyer is tied for fourth after carding a two-over par 74. Fellow senior Stephanie Keever and freshman Kim Kouwabunpat are tied for eighth with a three-over par 75. Sophomore Kim Rowton checks in tied for 17th with a five-over par 77. Freshman Angela Rho is tied for 22nd, carding a six-over par 78. Marcia Wallis, competing as an individual, is tied for 28th, after shooting a seven-over par 79. Teammate Jessica Belskis, who is also competing as an individual, is tied for 55th with an 86.

San Francisco's Susannah Laing currently leads the field with a one-under par 71. Nevada's Angie Yoon and San Jose State's Jessica Krantz are tied for second, shooting a par 72 on the day.

Action at the Peg Barnard Collegiate concludes tomorrow with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start at the Stanford Golf Course.
