Ann Arbor, Mich. --The sixth-ranked Stanford women's gymnastics team claimed second place behind Michigan with 196.725 as both teams advance to the NCAA Championships in Athens, GA. Freshman Lindsay Wing tied with Michigan's Bridget Knaeble for first in the All-Around with scores of 39.525. Senior Jen Exaltacion finished fourth in the All-Around with a 39.200.
Stanford claimed six of the top-three spots in each individual event with three champions. Wing took first on beam with a 9.950. Wing also claimed third on floor with a 9.900, while teammate Lise L?veill? snagged first place with a 9.950. Exaltacion and junior Katy Herbert tied with Michigan's Elise Ray for second on beam with a 9.900. On vault, freshman Robin Phelps finished in a tie with Michigan's Chrissy Michaud for first place with a 9.925.
Stanford will return to action on Thurs., April 19 to compete for the National Championship during the three-day event in Athens, GA.
