UCLA HEAD COACH SUE ENQUIST: "It was great to see us do a lot of good things tonight. We got some timely and clutch hitting. I was pleased with Keira's (Goerl) appearance. She seemed to get comfortable in the circle. I was pleased to see Courtney (Dale) come in and do a good job. We played great defense. We've been harping on playing solid defense. We made great plays. This was an enjoyable game to be a part of."

On having the day off tomorrow: "It's a confidence builder. We have a sense of momentum. We get a day to regroup. The first game you want to get in your flow and the second game you want to execute. We're in a good position. We did a lot of things well in all facets of the game - our pitching and timely hitting."

UCLA DESIGNATED PLAYER CLAIRE SUA:On her fourth-inning home run: "I'm prepared for when they walk Stacey (Nuveman) because it has happened all season. She's a great hitter. I was just looking for a base hit. We were getting our bats on the ball, we just needed to get the ball in play. I'm still humble because I didn't do much after the home run."

UCLA PITCHER KEIRA GOERL:On her performance: "I kind of got off to a rough start. It was an ugly inning. I knew everyone was behind me and that we could turn it around. I knew that if they put it in play, the defense would be behind me. The home runs really pumped everyone up. I knew I just needed to come out stronger the next inning to keep them from scoring."

STANFORD HEAD COACH JOHN RITTMAN:On the game: "Well, it's a little bit different feeling than last night, and that's what's kind of special about this game. One day you come in here and you are on top of the world and the next day your world's falling apart. We lost to a very good team tonight and we're going to reload, refocus and get ready for tomorrow. I thought tonight we had some chances early on - their pitcher was a little bit wild early in the game and I think we helped her get out of some jams. We had the bases loaded and couldn't get the clutch hit and then Beeson just missed a change-up that could've made it 2-0."

On his decision to take pitcher Dana Sorensen out of the game: "Dana was kind of upset that she was taken out of the game, but when they got five up on us we figured that we'd use some of our other pitchers tonight. We have some depth at pitching. Tori (Nyberg) did a good job at coming in and holding them down. Unfortunately, we couldn't score any runs at that point. We are just going to reload and get ready for tomorrow."

On playing UCLA previously: "I think UCLA run-ruled us once. The next day it was a closer game. We haven't scored runs on Keira Goerl and we have to find a way to do that. I think that as a freshman pitcher in this conference you have an advantage. The hitters don't know you and we haven't made the necessary adjustments yet."

STANFORD PITCHER DANA SORENSEN:On Claire Sua's home run: "That was a drop I left over the middle of the plate and she went with it. Those things happen. You don't want to pitch to Stacey (Nuveman) because she's the best hitter in the game. Claire (Sua) stepped it up and beat us at our game plan."

On Toria Auelua's home run: "Toria hit a good pitch, a low curve ball. Those things happen. UCLA is a good team with good hitters. It's a game of averages - sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Unfortunately, tonight we were on the losing end."
