STANFORD, Calif. - Top-ranked Stanford University remained undefeated on the young season (3-0 overall, 2-0 Pac-10) with a convincing 7-0 Pacific-10 Conference win over Washington State (0-1, 0-1) on Friday afternoon at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
The Cardinal continues the weekend homestand against #26 Washington on Saturday at noon at the Taube Family Tennis Stadium.
After sweeping all three doubles matches to win the first point of the dual, Stanford clinched matters by winning five of the six singles matches in straight sets. In those five matches, the Cardinal dropped a combined total of just 11 games.
At No. 1 singles, defending NCAA Champion Laura Granville (Chicago, IL/The Latin School) defeated Erica Perkins 6-2, 6-3, and at No. 2 singles, Stanford junior Lauren Kalvaria (Indialantic, FL/Boca Raton Prep) beat Ana Maria Moura 6-1, 6-0.
