Box Score

Stockton, Calif. - Erica Swesey scored the game's only goal and Rebecca Shapiro recorded her fourth straight shutout to lead first-place Stanford to a 1-0 victory over Pacific (3-8, 2-4 NorPac) in a NorPac contest at Brookside Field on Saturday. The victory kept Stanford unbeaten in NorPac play and in sole possession of first place in the NorPac West Division as the Cardinal is percentage points ahead of California (9-4, 4-1). The Cardinal extended its season-long win streak to four games and has won six straight contests against NorPac opponents dating back to last season.

Swesey scored for the fourth straight game and picked up her fifth NorPac goal in three conference games by scoring unassisted on a rebound with 21:51 remaining in the first half. She leads the Cardinal this season with 15 points and seven goals.

Shapiro, who has not allowed a goal since the Cardinal dropped a 1-0 decision at Ball State on September 11, was the key defensively for Stanford as she recorded her fifth shutout of the season and the 20th of her career. Shapiro finished with six saves, including five in the second half as Pacific outshot Stanford, 9-7.

Stanford will next host Saint Louis in another key NorPac contest on Sunday, October 21 (1:00 p.m.). Five Stanford seniors - Sara Herman, Melita Sawyer, Shapiro, Melissa Stai and Swesey - will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.
