Stanford, Calif. - The fourth-ranked Stanford women's volleyball team ran their conference record to 5-0 with a sweep of Oregon State tonight in Maples Pavilion. Game scores were 34-32, 30-17, 30-24.

The Cardinal are now 12-1 on the year, 5-0 in the Pac-10. The Beavers fall to 9-4 overall, 3-2 in conference action.

In game one, Oregon State called a timeout with Stanford leading 9-6 after a block by Ashley Ivy and Tara Conrad. The Beavers closed the gap with Stanford at 14-all, but the Cardinal would go up by three at 20-17 on another block by Ivy and Conrad. The Beavers would take their second time out at 25-19 after a block by Sara McGee and Robyn Lewis. Oregon would battle back and force Stanford to take a timeout at 27-26. Stanford reached game point at 29-28 on a kill by Conrad but couldn't close the door on OSU. Finally on the fifth game point, a service ace by Emily Lawrence gave the Cardinal the 34-32 win.

OSU took a one point lead in game two at 9-8, but a service error tied the game up at nine-all. The Beavers took a timeout with Stanford leading 14-10, but to no avail. The Cardinal pushed the lead to 23-15 and forced a second OSU timeout at 26-16 after a block by Jennifer Harvey and Logan Tom. Stanford reached game point on another service ace by Emily Lawrence and won game two on a kill by Logan Tom at 30-17.

Game three was close until a Stanford run put the Cardinal up 17-12, forcing a Beaver timeout. The Cardinal would take a timeout of their own at 21-18 after an OSU service ace closed the gap to three points. Oregon State took their final timeout trailing by three at 23-26. The Cardinal got to match point on a kill by Sara McGee and won the game and match on a Beaver hitting error at 30-24.

Stanford was led by freshman Ogonna Nnamani's match-high 14 kills and sophomore Sara McGee's nine blocks. Juniors Ashley Ivy and Logan Tom chipped in 10 kills each on the night. Senior Emily Lawrence tallied a team-high nine digs and two service aces.

Oregon State was led by Katrina Nelson and Gina Schmidt who had 11 and 10 kills respectively. Nikki Neuburger had a match-high 11 digs on the night.

The Cardinal take on No. 7 Arizona on Sunday, October 7 in Maples Pavilion at 1 p.m.
