Veris is originally from Chillicothe, Ohio. He graduate from Stanford Class of 1985, majoring in Political Science. Garin is probably best remembered for his performance on the football team (1981-84), where he earned 2nd team All-American honors, and 1st team All-Pac-10 in 1984. But he also compete on the Stanford Track team from 1981-83. Veris went on to play in the NFL for seven years after he was drafted in the 2nd round by New England Patriots in 1985. He played in the 1986 Super Bowl XX. He won the 1989 New England Patriots Community Service Award for his dedicated to the community. In 1998, Garin graduate from Boston College Law School. Currently, he is the Assistant Director of Annual Giving and Fundraising at Stanford Athletic Department.
