A busy weekend for the Cardinal concluded the Fall racing season with outstanding results. The Varsity finished second at the Head of the Lake and the Freshmen placed first in the Redhead Regatta. Both squads secured the winningest records in Fall racing history. (more)
The weekend capped an outstanding Fall season from the Cardinal. The Varsity Eight took second at the Head of the Lake Regatta and the Freshmen won the Redhead Regatta.Both races proved significant, as the Varsity Eight and Freshmen Eights concluded the Fall season with strong results.
Seattle, WA-Saturday in perfect conditions, the Varsity Eight raced with distinction and took second place behind the globally enhanced crew from the University of Washington. Of greater significance was that the Cardinal beat the Oregon State Beavers to the finish line. This was the first time in the last five years where the Cardinal has achieved such a result. "We feel that our results will be achieved only through the daily effort that we put into our work." noted senior coxswain Simona Chin. "This was an excellent opportunity to execute on race day. We will continue to move forward." The Varsity Four continued the Cardinal effort with a solid effort, finishing seventh out of twenty-two crews in the Open Four.

Redwood City, CA- In overcast conditions at the Redhead Regatta, Men's Crew continued efforts for Spring racing. The Frosh/Novice squad concluded their Fall season with another first place finish. The Varsity group broke down into small boats, winning all entered events. This concluded the first undefeated Fall season for Frosh crew at Stanford. "Our results are due to the hard work and daily effort that the student athletes have committed." noted Coach Amerkhanian. "We are pleased with the performances and hope to build on the results in the Spring."
