No. 2 Women's Soccer Falls To Arizona State In Overtime

Tempe, Ariz --- The No. 2 Stanford women's soccer team dropped only its second game this season and first conference match to Arizona State as the Sun Devils scored early in the first overtime. The Cardinal (12-2-1, 5-1-0 Pac-10) and the Sun Devils (9-8-0, 3-4-0 Pac-10) stayed even for the first 90 minutes to send the game into overtime where Arizona State tapped in a goal at 93:52 to take the win.

Both goalies played strong, with Stanford's Carrie Walsh (Los Gatos, CA) picking up six saves and Arizona State's Kristin Slater notching five. Stanford tallied 10 shots in the game, while the Sun Devils chalked up 13.

Less than four minutes into the first overtime period, Arizona State's Stacey Tullock chipped a pass over the defense to teammate Kathleen Dely who scored to end the sudden-victory period and claim the victory.

The Cardinal travel to Tucson to take on The University of Arizona on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. Stanford will then return home for its final home regular season home weekend against USC on Friday and No. 5 UCLA on Sunday afternoon.
