Women's Golf In 12th After First Round Of Auburn Invitational

Auburn, AL - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 35-over par 323 today to sit in 12th place after the first round of the Auburn Tiger-Derby Invitational at the Auburn University Club. Tennessee leads the field with a six-over 294 on the day, followed by Georgia, who is three strokes back at 297. Rounding out the top five are Duke (301), Pepperdine (301) and Arizona (303).

Arizona's Lorena Ochoa sits a top the leaderboard after carding a five-under 67 today. Young-A Yang from Tennesse is one stroke back with a 68.

Stanford was led by junior Kim Rowton who is tied for 30th (78) followed by freshman Wendra Liang who is 33rd (79). Kim Kouwabunpat and Jessica Belskis are tied for 59th (83). Stanford's Salimah Mussani withdrew from competition.

Second round action continues tomorrow in Auburn, Alabama. Tee times begin at 7:30 a.m. from the first and tenth tees.
