Stanford has forced a Game 7 for the Palo Alto Regional Championship, which is set to begin at 6 p.m. Stanford' s J.D. Wilcox is now 4-0. The loser is Albert Montes, he is now 7-6.Stanford's last postseason game with extra innings was a 14-11 loss to Florida State in the 1999 CWS bracket final - the game went 13 innings and eliminated Stanford from the tournament. Texas las tplayed a 10 inning game in the 1985 CWS, where the Longhorns defeated Arkansas, 8-7. Stanford's Carlos Quentin single to RF scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth, there were two runners on base, two outs on a 1-0 pitch. He was 4-for-6 on the day with four RBI. His game-winning hit set a new career-high with four hits.Stanford's Ryan Garko extends his team-leading hit-streak to 19 games. He was 1-for-5 on the day. This was Cardinal Andy Topham's first multi-HR game, he hit two bringing his season total to six. The Cardinal is attempting to win its third straight NCAA Regional and the 11th in school history. Stanford is now 90-47 overall in the postseason and 54-21 in regional play. Stanford won the regional in 2000 in the second championship game agianst Alabama, 16-6. Stanford will be looking to win two games on teh final day of a regional for the first time in school history. The only time Stanford has claimed two victories on the same day of a regional was May 29, 1995 on the second to final day of teh 1995 Midwest Regional title. Texas and Stanford split a pair of NCAA Regional games on May 26, 1981 - the Cardinal won the first game, 9-8, to force the second game in which the Longhorns snagged the second, 10-2, to earn a trip to the CWS. This was Texas' Tim Moss' second career three-hit game and the first time he has notched three runs. He last tallied three hits vs. Oklahoma on 3/24/01. He went 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI. The Longhorns' Ben King's HR with 2 outs in the top of the ninth was his second postseason HR at Sunken Diamond and the third of his career. He hit a one-out grand slam, the first of his career, last year while playing for Alabama in a game against Nevada at the Palo Alto Regional to give the Tide a 7-2 lead that the Tide went on to win, 8-2.
