Men's And Women's Track And Field Compete At Boston Indoor Games

Boston, Mass. - The Stanford men's and women's track and field teams competed at the adidas Boston Indoor Games today at the Reggie Lewis Center Track & Athletic Center in Boston. More than 20 Olympic and World Championship medalists were competing, marking the first stop on the 2002 Indoor USA Track & Field Golden Spike Tour.

Jonathon Riley (Brookline, MA) was Stanford's top place-winner, taking third in the 3000-meter run with a time of 7:46.84. The Cardinal also placed fifth in the college distance medley relay, touring the track in 9:44.54.

On the women's side, Lindsay Hyatt (Auburn, CA) and Ashley Wysong (Nevada, MO) finished in seventh and eighth place, respectively, in the 800-meter run. Hyatt completed the race in 2:09.40, followed by Wysong's time of 2:10.43.

Stanford will be in action next weekend on Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Air Force Quadrangular in Colorado Springs, Colo.
