Palos Verdes Estates, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team fired a 311 in the final round of the TRW Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., to tie for 13th overall. The Cardinal carded a 927 for the tournament. Tulsa took top team honors with a three-round total of 870 while Texas finished second with a 893. Rounding out the top five are Oklahoma State (900), Arizona State (902) and Michigan State (905).
Arizona golfer Lorena Ochoa was first in the individual standings after shooting a seven-under par 206 for the tourney.
Sophomore Angela Rho (Fullerton, Calif.) led the Cardinal and tied for 13th overall with a 223 (78-72-73). Junior Kim Rowton (San Antonio, Tx.) tied for 50th after carding a three-day total of 234 (81-76-77). Sophomore Marcia Wallis (Los Gatos, Calif.) tied for 53rd with a 235 (80-77-78) while senior Salimah Mussani (Ontario, Canada) tied for 61st with a 236 (78-75-83). Sophomore Kim Kouwabunpat finished tied for 75th (80-78-84--242).
