No. 11 Men's Gymnastics Finishes Third at UCLA Invitational

Los Angeles, Calif. ---No. 11 Stanford competed in the UCLA Invitational tonight, finishing with a 205.175. The second-ranked Fighting Illinis took the top spot with a 213.200 and No. 7 California notched second place with a 209.400. The Cardinal downed No. 16 Santa Barbara (201.300), No. 20 Arizona State (188.30) and Washington (167.500).

Sophomore Dan Gill posted a career-high 9.150 on floor and a 9.475 on vault to take first place in both events. Junior Marshall Erwin captured first on rings with a 9.450. Freshman Bryan McColgan posted his best mark of the season on floor with an 8.950 to take third place.

The Cardinal will square off against Illinois and UCSB on Saturday in Santa Barbara. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
