Colorado Springs, Colo. - No. 10 Men's Gymnastics snagged third place at the MPSF Championships with a 207.650, finishing behind No. 3 Oklahoma (219.225) and No. 7 California (217.200). Nebraska (205.825) took fourth, followed by Air Force (202.850) and UC Santa Barbara (202.500). Sophomore Dan Gill, currently second in the nation on vault, took first place on the event with a new career-high 9.650 and the nation's No. 1 rings specialist, junior Marshall Erwin, posted a 9.850 to claim first place.
Gill and senior Dave Durante tied for fifth place in the All-Around, both notching a 51.100. Gill tied for 11th on pommel horse and 15th on the horizontal bar, while Durante put up an 11th place performance on rings and then tied for 13th on vault and parallel bars.
Senior Cade Raggio grabbed eighth place on the pommel horse with an 8.700 and tied for 13th with an 8.500 on the parallel bars and fellow senior Rico Andrade tied for fifth place on vault with a 9.300 and took 11th on the horizontal bar. Senior David Ludlow tied for ninth on the horizontal bar with an 8.750.
Erwin also claimed a share of ninth place on the pommel horse with an 8.650, and freshman Kelly Lang earned a piece of sixth place on the parallel bars with an 8.800.
Stanford resumes competition at the MPSF Championships tomorrow at 1 p.m. (MT) in Colorado Springs for individual event finals.
