Stanford, Calif. - The eighth-ranked Stanford women's gymnastics team won every event en route to defeating Seattle Pacific 195.800 to 192.450 on Friday night in Burnham Pavilion. The Cardinal improve to 9-3 overall, while the Falcons fall to 3-9.
Stanford dominated the vault, taking the top-five places. Lindsay Wing recorded a season-high 9.900 to place first, followed by Kendall Beck (9.875), Shelly Goldberg (9.850), Katy Herbert (9.775) and Alissa Cooper (9.700).
The Cardinal managed to do the same on the bar rotation, with Becky Meldrum and Kristin Jensen tying for first place with a 9.950. Abby Gair placed third (9.900) and Wing and Cooper tied for fourth posting scores of 9.850.
Herbert and Wing tied for first on the beam for Stanford, recording a 9.850. Marla Ranieri and Seattle Pacific's Annastasai Ahr tied for third with a 9.750. Meldrum won her second event of the evening, placing first on the floor exercise with a 9.900. Herbert and Mandy Delgado each recorded a 9.875 to tie for second.
Stanford's Herbert won the all-around title with a season-high score of 39.200. Alison Siegel-McAfee (38.650) and Corrie McDaniel (38.300) placed second and third, respectively, for the Falcons in the all-around.
The Cardinal will take a week off and resume competition on Saturday, March 23, when Stanford will host the Pac-10 Women's Gymnastics Championships.
