No. 6 Men's Tennis Takes Down No. 59 Arizona 6-1

TUCSON, Ari. - No. 6 Stanford men's tennis had little trouble with No. 59 Arizona on Saturday afternoon, dispatching of the Wildcats 6-1 in Tucson to improve to 19-2 overall on the year. Arizona is now 8-11 on the campaign.

On the singles side, Stanford took five of six matches (Nos. 1-5) to help preserve the win. No. 4 K.J. Hippensteel led the way at the No. 1 spot, recording a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win over Arizona's top threat in No. 40 Steven Capriati. No. 46 David Martin and No. 76 Scott Lipsky also earned wins for the Cardinal in singles competition.

The Cardinal won the doubles point, picking up wins at the Nos. 1 and 3 positions. The nation's No. 1 team of Lipsky and Martin posted an 8-4 win at the top doubles spot, while Stanford's No. 3 tandem of Sheng and Warburg were able to chip in with a 9-7 triumph.
