Walla Walla, Washington - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 304 in the final round of the 2002 Pac-10 Championships to finish seventh overall. The Cardinal fired a three-round total of 913. Arizona won the title (891) while UCLA was second at 899. Rounding out the top five were Arizona State (908), California (908), USC (909) and Washington (909).
Freshman Wendra Liang led the Cardinal with a tie for ninth place (75-76-75--226) in the individual standings. Junior Kim Rowton finished 16th with a 229 (73-81-75) while sophomore Angela Rho tied for 19th (80-75-76--231). Fellow sophomore Kim Kouwabunpat tied for 26th (76-80-78--234) and senior Jessica Belskis finished tied for 34th (76-78-82--236).
Arizona State's Jimin Kang won the individual crown, shooting a even par 216 for the three-day tournament. Arizona's Lorena Ochoa was second (217) and USC's Mikaela Parmlid placed third (218).
Stanford will host the 2002 Women's Golf NCAA West Regional, May 9-11, at the Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, Calif.
