Redwood Shores, CA - In sunny and breezy conditions, the Cardinal Men's Crew took three races from the University of California - Davis Aggies. It was the first time in recent history that all three boats have beaten the Aggies. The first race of the day featured the Varsity 8+'s. The Cardinal carried a lead from their strong start through the finish line and emerged victorious. The race for the Junior Varsity was the most hotly contested of the day. At the halfway point, the Cardinal had only a narrow margin but was able to press the lead into a win by 3 seconds.
The Freshmen raced against an eager and athletic Davis frosh crew. At the halfway point, the freshmen had only a slight advantage but were able to extend their advantage into an even greater margin over the second half of the race. The freshmen also had an opportunity to fit in all of the racing that they could, concluding the day with a convincing win over the spirited first year St Mary's crew.
The Men's Crew next race against the University of Washington at Opening Day in Seattle on May 4th.
