No. 11 Men's Gymnastics Finishes Third at Session I

Norman, Okla. - Stanford posted a 214.000 during Session I of the NCAA Qualifiers at the Lloyd Noble Center on the University of Oklahoma campus. Team finals will be held on Friday at 7 p.m. (CT) and individual event finals will be Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT). Stanford will face off against Oklahoma, Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa and California. The Cardinal finished fifth overall to advance to the team finals.

Sophomore Dan Gill led the team today with two first place finishes - taking the top spot on parallel bars and vault (9.100 and 9.700 respectively). Gill is currently the No. 1 gymnast in the nation on vault and his 9.700 is the best mark of his career. Gill also finished fourth on floor with a 9.375.

Senior Cade Raggio claimed seventh on floor with a 9.150 and tied for fourth on vault with a 9.200, while junior Matt McLean tied for 10th place on vault with a 9.100.

Senior Dave Durante captured fourth place on the pommel horse with a 9.325 while junior Marshall Erwin tied for ninth with a season-high mark of 9.150. Erwin also took first on rings with a 9.500 and Durante shared ninth with an 8.900 while finishing second in the All-Around with a 52.950.

Freshman Kelly Lang posted his best collegiate score on parallel bars with an 8.925 to share third place.

Cardinal seniors dominated the horizontal bar with Rico Andrade taking third notching a 9.250, Jason Biltz put up a season-high 8.900 to tie for sixth and David Ludlow chalking up a ninth place tie with an 8.850.
