Cardinal Land Three On Pacific All-Region Team

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford women's softball team landed three student-athletes on the 2002 Pacific Region Softball Teams as announced yesterday. Senior Jessica Mendoza, along with junior Kira Ching, were first team selections while senior Sarah Beeson was a second-team pick.

Earlier this month, Mendoza, Beeson and Ching were honored as All-Pacific-10 conference selections as well.

Beeson leads the team with a .390 batting average while Mendoza tops the squad with 14 homeruns. Ching, is right behind Mendoza with 10 roundtrippers.

The Stanford women's softball team is currently vying for a second consecutive trip to the College World Series in Oklahoma City. The Cardinal defeated Pacific, 7-0, yesterday and take on conference rival California tonight at 5 p.m.
