Women Hang On To Top-10 After Day 2 At North Americans

Honolulu, Hawaii - The Stanford Women's Sailing team still sits in 10th place overall after Thursday's day of racing on Keehi Lagoon in Honolulu, Hawaii. Eight races were held in each division on Thursday. In A-Division, Jen Porter sailing with crews Jess Gray and Sarah Zukerman holds steady in 10th place. In B-Division, Ashley Frush has sailed with crews Jenais Zarlin and Kara Sweeney. Subbing in for in two B-Division races, Liz Shearer and crew Taylor Clark helped the B-Division stay in 12th place in B. Fourteen races have now been completed, with four more scheduled for Friday. Conditions were similar to Wednesday's racing with eighty-degree air and water temperatures, and 5-15 knot winds. Shifty and light early in the day, he breeze began with southerly thermal winds before northeast tradewinds filled in during the afternoon. Races have been run from the Honolulu Community College Marine Education and Training Center. A variety of courses have been used, all variations of windward-leewards or triangles. Sailors are racing Vanguard Flying Juniors (FJs) provided by U Hawaii.
