Sara Bei Wins U.S. Junior National Title in 3,000 Meters

Stanford, Ca - Sara Bei, who just finished her freshman season at Stanford, is the 2002 United States Junior National Champion in the 3,000 meters.

Bei won the event on Saturday night at the U.S. Junior Championships at Stanford's Cobb Track & Angell Field.

Bei won in a time of 9:32.98. Jill Miller of Wake Forest finished second at 9:37.72.

With the victory, Bei has earned a berth on the USA World Junior Championship team which will compete in Jamaica next month.
