Stanford Hosts Modern Pentathlon World Championships July 15th-21st

The Modern Pentathlon is a grueling sport where athletes compete in five different sports - fencing, shooting, running, swimming and equestrian jumping - all in the same day!

Stanford, Calif. - Stanford University will host The 2002 Modern Pentathlon World Championships July 15th-21st. Two hundred and fifty athletes from forty countries will participate in this Olympic competition. The Modern Pentathlon is a grueling sport where athletes compete in five different sports - fencing, shooting, running, swimming and equestrian jumping - all in the same day!

The Modern Pentathlon World Championships take place July 15 - 21. Opening Ceremonies are at Frost Amphitheatre Monday, July 15 at 7:30 PM and feature the Parade of Athletes, three international dance groups and the Great Wall Ensemble Children's Chorus.
