Stanford Records Third Straight Shutout With 4-0 Win Over Albany

Syracuse, N.Y. - Stanford (3-0) recorded its third consecutive shutout to open the season with a 4-0 victory over Albany (1-2) in a non-conference game at Coyne Field on Thursday. Noor Dawood was credited with her third straight game-winning goal in as many contests when she scored at 19:22 on an assist by Amanda Billmyer to give the Cardinal a 1-0 halftime lead. Tysie Sawyer had the first two-goal game of her career with a pair of second half goals, while Stanford goalkeepers Emily Zander (two saves) and Ana Kralovec (one save) combined for the shutout for the third straight contest, each playing one half in the net. Stanford has now won 11 of its last 13 games dating back to last season and has recorded 11 shutouts in its last 22 contests.

Stanford's first two second half goals came on converted penalty strokes by Sawyer (47:06) and Missy Halliday (59:38), the first collegiate score for Halliday. Sawyer then closed out the scoring at 66:44 on assists by Lyndsay Erickson and Eleanor Morgan.

Stanford outshot Albany, 28-4.

Albany goalkeeper Megan Akstin recorded 18 saves.
