Stanford Returns To Winning Ways With 5-0 Win At Colgate

Hamilton, New York - Stanford (4-2) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 5-0 victory over Colgate (0-3) as Amrit Chima scored a pair of goals and added an assist in a non-conference game at Tyler's Field on Tuesday. Noor Dawood also tallied a goal an assist to raise her team-leading season point total to 10. Christina Williams netted a goal for the second straight contest and Vicki Ward tallied her first career goal. Emily Zander and Ana Kralovec split the game in the net to help Stanford record its fourth team shutout of the campaign and blank an opponent for the 12th time in the last 25 contests. Kralovec was named the NorPac Rookie of the Week prior to Tuesday's game.

Stanford led just 1-0 at the break on a goal by Chima at 26:02 with assists from Dawood and Liz Ott.

Williams scored an unassisted goal, the first of four Stanford tallies after halftime, on a breakaway at 41:34 to give Stanford a 2-0 lead. Dawood picked up her score less than two minutes later on an assist by Chima at 43:32 before Chima notched her second goal at 44:51 on a penalty stroke. Ward finished Stanford's frantic second half rally at 55:45, scoring on a penalty corner with assists credited to Lyndsay Erickson and Missy Halliday.

Zander recorded a pair of saves while playing the first half before Kralovec took over after the break and saved four Colgate shots.

Stanford outshot Colgate, 33-8, as the Colgate goalkeeping duo of Sara Corcoran (18 saves, 65:17) and Carolyn Daly (two saves, 4:43) combined for 20 saves.

Stanford will be out of action for two days before beginning the second half of a season-long eight-game road trip at Cornell on Friday, September 13 (12 pm, ET). Stanford will next be in action at home versus Iowa on Sunday, September 22 (1 pm, PT).
