Stanford, Ca - The Stanford women's soccer team received a goal from freshman Jennifer Farenbaugh at 103:34 of the first overtime to defeat Texas A & M at the Bay Area Classic on Friday night at Harry Maloney Field. Both teams were ranked third in the nation.
Stanford's women outshot the Aggies, 18-5, but the Aggies played tough defense to prevent the Cardinal from scoring until Farenbaugh's first collegiate goal.
The Cardinal women will host tenth-ranked Texas on Sunday at noon at Harry Maloney Field.
All-American Roger Levesque scored his first goal of the season and added two assists to lead the top-ranked Stanford men's soccer team to a 3-2 victory over seventh-ranked SMU.
Levesque tallied his first goal of the season at 40:56, and assisted on goals by Johanes Maliza (24:32) and Matt Janusz (45:56).
Stanford jumped to a 3-0 lead, but held on as SMU rallied for two goals in the final eight minutes of the game, but fell short.
The Cardinal, 2-0, will host 14th-ranked Portland on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Stanford. SMU fell to 1-1-1.
