Notre Dame, Ind. - The top-ranked Stanford men and second-ranked women swept the team competition at the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday at Burke Memorial Golf Course. Bei won for the third time this season as she also shared an individual win at the Cal State Fullerton Season Opener on August 31.
Both teams dominated the fields on Friday with the men scoring 33 points to easily outdistance second-place and No. 25 Michigan (80) and the women placing four of the top five runners for a mere 21 points with No. 18 Wisconsin finishing second at 67 points.
"Both of our teams did a great job," said Stanford director of cross country/track and field Vin Lananna. "We beat some good teams and excellent individuals in the both the men's and women's races. Lauren Fleshman and Alicia Craig finished second and third respectively in the women's event, both with an official time of 16:49 and just one second behind Bei.
