Oahu, Hi - Senior golfer Kim Rowton took top individual medalist honors to lead the Stanford women's golf team to a third place finish (893) at the Kent Youel Invitational held at the Kapolei Golf Course in Oahu, Hawaii. Rowton fired a one-under par 71 in the final round of the invite to capture the first individual title of her career with a three-day total of 215. California won the event with a score of 870 followed by UCLA with an 888. Rounding out the top five were New Mexico (898) and San Francisco (901).
Freshman golfer Kelly Husted carded a par 72 today to finish tied for 11th overall with a 222 (76-74-72) while teammate Angela Rho tied for 34th with a 229 (79-74-76). Junior Kim Kouwabunpat shot a 75 today to move up into a tie for 40th with a 232 (80-77-75). Sophomore Wendra Liang tied for 58th at 237 (75-86-76).
The Kent Youel Invitational concludes the Stanford golf team's fall schedule. The squad will be back in action at the TRW Regional Challenge in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., February 10-12.
