Stanford women's tennis player Amber Liu advanced through the qualifying rounds and will play in the main draw competition with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Katie Granson of Duke in the final round of the qualifying draw at the 2002 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships.
Liu picked up her third victory in two days and advances to the main singles draw, set to begin on Thursday morning.
Sixth-seed Erin Burdette will begin play tomorrow against Duke's Amanda Johnson, while teammate Lauren Barnikow will face No. 7 Kate Pinchbech of North Carolina in the first round of the main draw. Barnikow and Burdette will team up for doubles competition, which also begins tomorrow at the Riviera Tennis Club.
