Long Beach State advanced to its sixth NCAA Regional championship game.Nick Covarrubias extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a fifth-inning single.Paul McAnulty had his 19-game hitting streak snapped by going 0-for-3 with a walk.Long Beach State has now won 39 or more games eight times since 1999.San Jose State is now 7-10 all-time in post season play.

The Titans were shutout for the first time after scoring in 117 consecutive games.Senior Chris Stringfellow led the Titans with two hits in his final collegiate game.
