STANFORD

With his fourth victory in his last four decisions, Tim Cunningham improves to 9-2 this season and 2-1 all-time in the post seasonAndy Topham notched two RBI in the top of the 2nd inning and recorded nine assists to bring his two-day Regional total to 20. Chris O'Riordan, who started his 169th straight game for the Cardinal, led-off the game with a solo home run - his ninth of the season. Two Stanford players had multiple-hit games. Arik VanZandt went 3-4 with one RBI and Chris O'Riordan went 2-4 with a home run and one RBI. Stanford has won nine of its previous 11 Regional games at Sunken Diamond and will be going for its fourth straight Regional tournament victory against the winner of the Cal State Fullerton-Long Beach State game. The Cardinal improves to 2-1 all-time against Long Beach State. The win marks a season-high six-game win streak for the Cardinal, who had three previous five-game win streaks this season. Stanford improves its home record to 26-4, its all-time post season record to 98-49, and its all-time Regional record to 57-21. Arik VanZandt notched a team season-high 18 putouts.

LONG BEACH STATE

Paul McAnulty extended his consecutive game hit streak to 19. Long Beach State will face Cal State Fullerton for the first time ever in the post season. Abe Alvarez suffered his third loss of the season, his first since losing to UC-Irvine on April 26th. Steve Velazco notched his first RBI of the season with a double in the 9th inning.
