Berkeley, Calif. - The Stanford men's gymnastics team (1-1) fell to California (1-1) 218.175-210.850 on Friday night at Haas Pavilion. Stanford earned its first win of the season when it beat the Golden Bears 212.75-211.10 on Jan. 25.
Seniors Cade Raggio and Marshall Erwin each turned in first-place performances on the pommel horse and rings, respectively. Both earned scores of 9.650.
Junior co-captain Dan Gill finished third in the all-around competition with a 53.950 followed by senior Matt McLean who notched a 50.075.
Gill also took home second place finishes in the floor exercise and on the horizontal bar with scores of 9.450 and 9.425, respectively.
McLean notched two third-place finishes by scoring a 8.850 on the rings and a 9.300 on the rings.
Visiting club team Arizona State (1-0 club, 0-4 NCAA) also competed, notching a 189.700 score.
The Cardinal will return to action on Feb. 21 when it squares off against Air Force at 7:30 p.m. at Maples Pavilion.
