DURHAM, N.C. - The Stanford University men's fencing team finished second at the six-team Duke Invitational on Friday afternoon.
The Cardinal finished with 83 total wins, which placed it behind only Notre Dame (106). Air Force (74), Duke (64), North Carolina (47) and Johns Hopkins (31) rounded out the field. Stanford finished second in both the foil (33) and saber (29) competitions, and placed fourth in epee (20).
Stanford won three of its five head-to-head matchups, with wins over Johns Hopkins, North Carolina and Duke.
