Stanford, Calif. - Led by Lindsay Wing's (Cypress, TX) perfect 10.00 on beam and a team score of 49.600 on bars, the eighth-ranked Stanford women's gymnastics team posted an impressive 197.725-197.275 victory over No. 9 Oklahoma on Saturday night in Burnham Pavilion. The Cardinal improves to 11-2-1 overall, while the Sooners fall to 13-7.
Glyn Sweets (Reston, VA) recorded a 9.925 and Natalie Foley (Englewood, CO) got a 9.900 to led Stanford on vault. The pair finished one-two on the event, while teammate Caroline Fluhrer (Seattle, WA) tied for fourth (9.875) on her first vault of the season. After the first rotation, Oklahoma held a slim advantage, 49.350-49.300.
Stanford reclaimed the lead on bars, recording the second-highest total in program history (49.600). Fluhrer and Wing took the top two places in the event, Fluhrer setting a career-high (9.975) and Wing tying a career-high mark with a 9.950. Foley and Sweets tied for fourth with 9.900 performances. The Cardinal took the lead 98.900-98.525, and never looked back.
Senior Kelsey Stillinger (Los Gatos, CA) started Stanford on beam in high fashion. On senior night, Stillinger recorded a career-high 9.900 to tie for third on the event. Wing then saved the best performance for the end, posting the school's first perfect 10.00 on beam. Foley also chipped in a 9.900 to tie Stillinger for third.
The Cardinal's season-high 49.325 on floor was enough to capture the victory over the Sooners. Foley and Lise L?veill? (Burnaby, BC) turned in Stanford's highest scores, tying for second with a 9.900.
Stanford had all three athletes in the all-around post scores of 39.475 or higher. Foley won the competition with a 39.600, followed by L?veill? (39.500) and Fluhrer (39.475).
The Cardinal finished their regular season and will compete in the Pac-10 Championships next Saturday in Los Angeles.
