Timi Wusu - third after day one of UC Multi-Events

Davis, Ca - Timi Wusu, a sophomore from Palo Alto, resides in third place after day one (Wednesday, March 26) of the University of California Decathlon/Heptathlon Multi-Events at UC Davis.

Wusu has chalked up 3,885 points after five events in Decathlon "A" competition. Darion Powell of Washington leads ten decathletes with 3,987 points.

Wusu began the day with 769 points with a time of 11.42 in the 100 meters. Wusu then added 886 points in the long jump (23-11 1/2, 7.30m), 673 points in the shot put (42-11 3/4, 13.10m) and 776 points in the high jump (6-5 1/2, 1.97m).

In men's decathlon "B" competition, Nicholas Taylor resides in second place with 3,368 points. Joshua Hustedt is ninth with 3,014 points. Chris Staton of UCLA leads after day one with 3,459 points.

In women's competition, Ahimsa Hodari resides in eleventh place among 13 heptathletes after day one of "A" competiton. Hodari has scored 2,877 points compared first day leader Ellannee Richardson of Washington State with 3,422 points.

In women's heptathlon "B" competition, Sally Mills has chalked up 2,740 points to place fourth among eleven heptathletes. Ann Marie Turpin of UC Irvine leads after four events with 2,893 points.

Day two competition will be held on Thursday.
