Eleven Stanford Athletes Win Regional Berths at Stanford Invitational

Stanford, Ca - Grant Robison, Evan Fox and Steve Loughlin each qualified for the NCAA West Regionals in the 1,500 meters to highlight Stanford's participation at the 29th annual Stanford Invitational on Saturday at Cobb Track & Field.

Robison toured the Stanford oval in a time of 3:43.07. The NCAA West Regional qualifying time is 3:50.00. Fox was timed in 3:44.34 while Loughlin was timed in 3:45.03. Former Stanford All-American and 2000 U.S. Olympian Michael Stember won the race (3:42.70).

Eight other Stanford athletes and two relay teams also qualified for the NCAA West Regionals which will be held May 30-31 at Stanford. The qualifiers included Nashonme Johnson in the 400 meters (54.61), Malindi Elmore in the 1,500 meters (4:17.15); Katie Hotchkiss in the 1,500 meters (4:23.34), Jeane Goff in the 1,500 meters (4:26.31), Lindsey Johnson with a school record time of 13.61 in the 100 meter hurdles, Jessica Pluth in the hammer (182-8), Kim Stone in the high jump (5-8 3/4), Jill Camarena in the shot put (55-7), and the men's and women's 400 meter relay (40.15, 45.61) and the men's and women's 1,600 meter relay (3:09.06, 3:39.97) teams. The 3:39.97 time by the women's 1,600 meter relay team was a school record.
