The No. 8 Stanford men's gymnastics team flew across the country to compete in the NCAA Championships on Friday, held at Temple University. The Cardinal finished in fourth place with a score of 212.325 and will not advance to Saturday's finals. With nine top-three finishes, Stanford will send six gymnasts to the next round of competition.

After a strong regular season, junior Dan Gill advanced to the All-Around finals.

Senior Marshall Erwin - the 2002 Individual Champion on the rings - led the charge for the Cardinal by advancing on the rings and the pommel horse.

Freshman Sean Doolan and Senior Matt McLean advanced on the floor. McLean also advanced on the high bar.

Senior Cade Raggio qualified on the vault as well as the high bar.

Sophomore Kelly Lang advanced on the parallel bars.

Saturday's team finals will be televised by ESPN via tape delay from 3:30-5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14.

The top three individuals, including ties, on each event and three all-arounders that are not members of the three qualifying teams from each session, also advance to Saturday's competition. The Saturday session, scheduled from 4:00-7:00 p.m., will consist of team and all-around finals, as well as qualifying for event finals. Six teams and six additional individuals including ties on each event, plus the all-around, make up Saturday's competition.

Individual and event finals will take place on Sunday from 2:00-3:30 p.m. The top 10 individuals on each event, including ties, will compete.
