Claremont, Ca - Omer Inan, a senior from Beaverton, Or, captured the discus title Friday night at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
Inan, a two-time All-American and school record holder in the discus, had a best mark of 189-2 (57.65m). Earlier in the day, Inan threw the shot put 51-9 3/4 (15.79m) to finish tenth.
Another Cardinal senior, Nick Welihozkiy finished third in the hammer with a career-best toss of 213-0 (64.92m).
Jason Goff tossed the javelin 201-6 (61.41m) in his 2003 outdoor debut.
In women's competition, Jill Camarena, a three-time All-American, captured the shot put and finished third in the discus. Camarena, the school record holder in the shot put, had a season-best mark of 55-10 1/2 (17.03m). Camarena's toss in the discus was a career-best 170-6 (51.96m).
