OJAI, Calif. - Stanford University's Carter Morris (Washington, D.C.) and Sam Warburg (Sacramento, CA) won the Pacific-10 Conference Men's Tennis Doubles Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Libbey Park.
Morris and Warburg defeated Bay Area rivals Or Dekel and Robert Kowalczyk of California 8-5 in Sunday afternoon's championship match.
The Cardinal pair received a bye in the first round of the 16-team draw, and then beat Daniel Andrus and Tim Mullane of Arizona 8-6 in the quarterfinals on Friday and Chris Lam and Chris Surapol of UCLA 8-3 in the semifinals on Saturday.
In the final of the doubles championship flight, Cardinal freshmen James Pade (Woodside, CA) dropped an 8-3 decision to Parker Collins and Daniel Langre of USC.
The third-ranked Cardinal men return to action on Saturday, May 10 in the first round of the NCAA Team Championship at a time and site to be announced.
