Stanford needs a win in today's series rubber game versus Arizona to keep a trio of series win streaks going ... The Cardinal has won both eight straight overall and eight consecutive Pac-10 series, as well as 15 home Pac-10 series in a row ... The last Pac-10 team to win a series at Sunken Diamond was USC when the Trojans took two-of-three from April 16-18, 1999 ... Stanford has also won 10 of its last 12 and 25 of its last 32 games overall ... Stanford (10-4 Pac-10) holds a one game lead over Arizona State (9-5 Pac-10), as well as two game leads over Arizona and USC (both 8-6) in the conference standings ... Stanford has won 16 career Pac-10 championships (includes Southern Division and shared titles) and finished either first or second in the conference 20 times in the last 22 years ... Carlos Quentin leads the Pac-10 with a .431 batting average and is. 001 percentage points above Stanford's single-season record of .430 set by Tom Williams in 1971 ... Quentin is also attempting to become the first Stanford player to hit .400 or better since David McCarty finished the 1991 season with a .420 mark ... Quentin has hit safely in 27 of his last 28 games (.486, 54-111) and had a career-high 26-game hit streak that lasted two months (February 22 - April 22) ... Quentin paces the team in hits (66), doubles (20), walks (28), hit-by-pitches (9), extra-base hits (27), total bases (106), slugging percentage (.693) and on-base percentage (.536) ... Ryan Garko is the team's leader in homers (10) and RBI (52) ... John Hudgins (7-3, 3.00) leads the conference in innings pitched (99.0) and strikeouts (94) ... STANFORD-ARIZONA PREVIEW AND SERIES HISTORY
Stanford and Arizona have split the first two games of their current series with Arizona winning 4-3 Friday and Stanford rebounding for a 10-9 comeback win Saturday. Stanford leads Arizona in the all-time series, 91-51. Last year, Stanford won two-of-three in Tucson (April 5-7; W, 5-4 in 18 inn.; W, 19-1; L, 13-15). Stanford also won two-of-three the last time the teams played at Sunken Diamond (May 11-13, 2001; W, 6-5, L, 4-5; W, 8-2).

Arizona 4, at Stanford 3 (April 25, 2003)
Brian Anderson's solo homer with one out in the top of the eighth broke a 3-3 tie and lifted Arizona to a 4-3 victory over Stanford in the opener of a key three-game Pac-10 series at Sunken Diamond. The Wildcats moved to within one game of the first-place Cardinal in the Pac-10 standings along with No. 11 Arizona State (40-9, 8-5 Pac-10), a 21-0 winner over Washington State in Tempe on Friday. Stanford's Carlos Quentin had his career-best 26-game hit streak snapped by going 0-for-3 with a pair of walks.
Arizona starter Richie Gardner earned the victory by scattering three runs and seven hits over the first 8.1 innings before John Meloan came on to retire both batters he faced in the bottom of the ninth to earn the save.
Stanford's John Hudgins (7-3) took the loss despite pitching a complete game.
Arizona's Brad Boyer (2-5, 3B, RBI) and Stanford's Jonny Ash (2-4, 2B) were the only players in the game with more than one hit. Moises Duran also hit a key two-run homer for Arizona in the top of the fifth inning, while Ryan Garko drove in a pair of runs for Stanford.
at Stanford 10, Arizona 9 (April 26, 2003)
Stanford scored four times in the bottom of the eighth inning to complete a 10-9 comeback victory over Arizona and retain first-place in the Pac-10, while evening a three-game conference series before 2591 fans at Sunken Diamond. Sam Fuld (2-5, 2B, HR, 4 RBI) drove in a season-high four runs and hit a key two-out, two-RBI double in the bottom of the eighth to give Stanford its first lead since the Cardinal jumped ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the first inning.
Carlos Quentin (3-5, HR, 2 RBI) homered and drove in a pair of runs one day after his career-high 26-game hit streak was snapped to raise his season batting average to .431, one percentage point above Tom Williams' school record of .430 in 1971.
Jonny Dyer (2-1) picked up the victory by retiring the only batter he faced in the top of the eighth and Matt Manship pitched a perfect ninth inning to record his team-leading fifth save of the year and his second of the week.
Ryan Garko also hit his team-leading 10th homer for the Cardinal in the third inning, a two-run shot that gave him his team-leading 51st and 52nd RBI of the season.
Arizona's Brian Anderson (4-5, 3B, HR, 5 RBI) hit an inside-the-park grandslam in the top of the third inning and Moises Duran went deep for the second time in the series with a two-run blast in the top of the eighth.
Brian Pemble (2-3), the third of four Arizona pitchers, was charged with the loss by being responsible for Stanford's tenth run.
Jed Lowrie (2-4, RBI) added two hits for the Cardinal, while Arizona's Trevor Crowe was 2-for-5 with a double for the Wildcats.
