Tempe, Arizona - The Stanford women's golf team shot a 307 today to move up one spot to eighth place with a 608 after the second round of the 2003 NCAA West Regional in Tempe, Arizona at the Karsten Golf Course. Southern California maintained its hold on the top spot with a two-day total of 581. Rounding out the top five are Oklahoma State (590), Pepperdine (596), Arizona State (597) and UCLA (598).
Freshman Kelly Husted continues to lead the Cardinal individually and is tied for 17th overall with a 149 (72-77). Senior Kim Rowton shot a 75 today and is tied for 31st overall (76-75) with a 151. Junior Kim Kouwabunpat is tied for 47th with a 155 (76-79) along with teammate Angela Rho (79-76). Sophomore Wendra Liang is tied for 67th (77-81).
UNLV's Sunny Oh continues to lead the field of individuals with a six-under par 138 after round two. USC's Tanya Dergal and WSU's Kim Welch are tied for second at two-under par 142. Pepperdine's Caroline Llano (145) is fourth while four players are tied for fifth at 146.
The final round of action will conclude tomorrow with 18 holes of action at the Karsten Golf Course. Stanford will begin teeing off from the 10th tee at 12:30 p.m. Complete results are available at www.golfstatlive.com.
