Feddersen's goal came off a penalty stroke, which was a reoccurring theme during the contest. The Bears were granted 3 penalty strokes while the Cardinal received none. Cal also held an advantage in penalty corners 8-4, which help the Bears outshoot the Cardinal 23-7, overall.
In the second half Cal scored four times, three of those four coming in a five minute span.
Val Godfrid fed Erin Booth beautifully to give the Bears some breathing room, 2-0, early in the second half. Twenty-one minutes later Godfrid was on the receiving end of an even more impressive assist by Feddersen, to make it 3-0. Jessica Bird then got into the action, scoring off a penalty stroke, with 5:11 left on the clock. Then Godfrid added the exclamation point with less than four minutes left, as Cal completed the regular season sweep of the Cardinal.
