TEMPE, Ariz. - The Stanford women's soccer team split this weekend in Arizona after a 1-0 loss to Arizona State on Sunday at the Sun Devil Soccer Stadium. The loss drops the Cardinal record to 6-6-1 overall and 1-1 in Pac-10 action this season.
ASU's senior defender Amy LePeilbet's scored on a 45-yard free kick at 37:01 for the lone goal of the match.
Stanford lost senior co-captain Allyson Marquand in the 23rd minute of action due to injury. The Cardinal had two shots, both on goal before leaving the match.
Stanford out-shot ASU 11-8, while the Devils recorded the only corner kick of the game.
The Cardinal play host to UCLA on Friday, Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. on Maloney Field.
